RKMVERI Convocation-2013 at Belur Main Campus

Like every year the Convocation Ceremony was held on 4 July 2013 at Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute. Our special guests on this occasion were Dr. S. Ayyappan, Director-General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Government of India as the Guest-in-Chief, and Prof. R. Balasubramanian, Director of the Institute of Mathematical Sciences in Chennai as the Special Guest of Honor. On this occasion we also commemorated the eight anniversary of the University.

From the School of Agriculture and Rural Development, Faculty Centre of Integrated Rural Development and Management, twelve students were bestowed with M.Sc. degrees in Integrated Rural Development and Management for the academic period 2010-12 and ten students with M.Sc. degrees in Agricultural Biotechnology for the academic period 2010-12.

From the School of Mathematical Sciences at Belur Main Campus nine students were awarded with M.Sc. degrees in Mathematics for the period 2011-13, two students with M.Phil degrees in Physics for the period 2010-12.

From the School of Indian Heritage one student has been conferred with M.A. degree in Sanskrit for the period 2008-13, and three students with B.A. degrees in Sanskrit for the period 2008-11.

From the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, four students were awarded with M.Phil degrees in Bengali for the period 2010-12.

On that auspicious day two books have been released by Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute:

1.    Bengali translation of Swami Siddheswaranandaji’s book “Meditation according to Yoga-Vedanta” (translation from English to Bengali by Shrimati Sumana Saha)

2.    Prajñaloka – Sanskrit journal containing papers on Vedanta by Sanskrit scholars
