Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign – 14-15 August 2024
The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was launched by the Government of India as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of India’s independence. The initiative aimed to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes, offices, and public places, fostering a sense of patriotism and national pride. RKMVERI, Belur Math Campus also participated in the celebration of “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign 2024 as follows:

Event 1: Freedom March:
The celebration started off at around 07:30 am of 14th August 2024, with a freedom march across the Campus of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (RKMVERI), Belur Math Campus by the students of the Department of Sanskrit and Philosophy. Total number of students participating in this March was 72.
Event 2: Extempore Speech:
At around 09:45 am of 14th August 2024, an extempore speech session was conducted with 83 students from the Dept. of Computer Science, Dept. of Physics, Dept. of Mathematics and Dept. of Sports Sc. and Yoga. The theme was “77 years of freedom”. Students discussed their ideas and way to go ahead.
Event 3: Musical Session:
This was the concluding session for the celebration of “Har Ghar Tiranga” on the 14th of August 2024. A team of student musicians played the song “Vijayi Vishwa Tiranga Pyara” in the University courtyard.

- In Bengali : Ankita Bhangi, 1″ yr BA Sanskrit
- In Hindi : Ishaan Chatterjee, 1″ yr Mathematics

- 7.25 am: Violin -Suryanarayan Ganguli, 2nd yr Physics
- 7.30 am: Short speeches by Monks/Brahmacharins (3 minutes each):

- 7.40 am: Short speeches by faculty/staff members (3 minuteseach):

- 7.50 am: Recitation – Sipahi Bidroho, Jnandeep Chatterjee, 2nd yr BA Sanskrit
- 7.55 am: Speech by SwamiSarvottamananda, Honbl’e Vice Chancellor
- 8.00 am: Closing song – “bharat amar bharat borsho” by students of Ramakrishnanada Bhavan
- 8.05 am: Shouts of Jay’ – Jai Bharatmata ki Jai, Jai Swadhinata Divas ki Jai, Vande Mataram’
Conclusion:
The “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign was a significant success, achieving its goals of fostering patriotism, promoting national unity, and celebrating India’s 78th Independence Day with enthusiasm. Despite some challenges, the campaign’s impact was widespread, leaving a lasting impression on the University fraternity’s collective consciousness.
This initiative has set a precedent for future national campaigns aimed at uniting the country and celebrating its rich heritage and history.
