Applications are invited from eligible and interested candidates for the engagement of one Research Fellow under the research project funded by the Central Sanskrit University.

Project Title: Reprinting of Hamsaduta by Rupagosvamin (with available commentaries, Critical and Historical Studies, Grammatical and Aesthetic Notes)

Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: M.A. in Sanskrit with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA from a University recognised by the UGC.
  • NET: The candidate must have qualified UGC-NET/NET in Sanskrit.
  • Sanskrit Proficiency: Demonstrable proficiency in Sanskrit, both in writing and speaking.
  • Typing Skills: Practical experience in typing in Roman and Devanagari scripts, preferably using the InScript keyboard layout.
1 ₹15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand only)

Duration of Engagement

The Research Fellow will be engaged initially for a period of six months, which may be extended further, subject to the requirements of the project, satisfactory performance of the Fellow, and the terms and conditions of the funding agency.

Nature of Work

The selected Research Fellow will assist in the research activities associated with the project, particularly in the reprinting and scholarly preparation of Haṃsadūta of Rūpagosvāmin along with the available commentaries. The work may include textual collation, preparation and checking of texts, consultation of manuscripts/printed sources and commentaries, digital text preparation, typing, bibliographical work, and other research-related activities assigned under the project.

Mode of Selection

The selection will be made through the following process:

  • Stage I: Scrutiny of Applications
    Applications received within the prescribed period will be scrutinised for fulfilment of the essential eligibility criteria.
  • Stage II: Screening Test
    Shortlisted eligible candidates will be required to appear for a screening test designed to assess their knowledge and skills relevant to the project.
  • Stage III: Interview
    Candidates qualifying in the screening test will be called for an interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the screening test and interview, along with academic qualifications and relevant skills.

Only candidates shortlisted after scrutiny of applications will be contacted for the screening test. Details regarding the date, time and venue of the screening test and interview will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates.

  5. Continuation of the engagement beyond the initial period of six months will be subject to the requirements of the project, satisfactory performance of the Research Fellow, availability of funds, and the terms and conditions of the funding agency.
  6. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the screening test or interview.
  7. Candidates may be required to produce the original certificates/documents at the time of the screening test/interview for verification.
  8. The competent authority reserves the right to modify the schedule, restrict the number of candidates called for the screening test/interview, or cancel the recruitment process, if necessary.
  9. Any attempt to furnish false or misleading information will result in disqualification of the candidature.
