The Board of Management of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute (Declared as Deemed to be University by the Government of India under University Grants Commission Act, 1956) cordially invites you and your friends to the eighteenth Anniversary of the Foundation Day and eighteenth Annual Convocation Ceremony of the University to be held in physical (offline) mode, on 4 July 2023 (Tuesday) at 4.00 PM at Vivekananda Sabhagriha in the University’s Belur Main Campus.

Professor V. Kamakoti, Director of Indian Institute of Technology Madras has kindly agreed to be present as the Guest-in-Chief and deliver the Convocation Address. Swami Suvirananda Ji Maharaj, Chancellor of the University and General Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, has kindly consented to preside over the ceremony and to deliver the Chancellor’s Address.

Detailed Programme:

4.00 – 4.05 pm: Invocation- Recitation of Vedic shanti mantras:
sahanaavavatu., bhadram karnebhih.., yaschhanda[aamrishabho…, medha suktam, purnamadah purnamidam… by the Brahmacharins of the University (led by Swami Japasiddhananda)
4.05 – 4.15 pm: Address of Welcome: Swami Atmapriyananda, Pro-Chancellor &Secretary, RKMVERI, Belur Math
4.15 – 4.30 pm: Administration of oath (pledge) to the students (inSanskrit with English translation) by Swami Atmapriyananda
4.35 – 5.10 pm: Convocation Address by the Guest-in-Chief, Prof. V. Kamakoti
5.15 – 5.20 pm: Vice Chancellor’s admission of the new graduates to their respective degrees:
“As per the authority vested in me as the Vice Chancellor of this University, Ihereby admit you to your degrees and diplomas with allthe rights and privileges thereto appertaining, for which you have duly qualfied by satistying all the programme requirements. Further, Icharge you to always strive to adhere to the spirit and letter of the noble vows that you have taken on this occasion to build your lives upon the bedrock of impeccable character thus proving worthy of this University bearing the hallowed name of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda.”
5.20 – 5.55 pm: Chancellor’s address by Swami Suvirananda Ji, General Secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission
6.00 – 6.05 pm: Award of prizes and medals to the toppers (announcement by Swami Shastravidyananda, Deputy Controller of Examinations)
6.10 – 6.25 pm: Conferment of Degrees and Diplomas (announcement by Swami Shastravidyananda, Deputy Controller of Examinations)
6.25 – 6.30 pm: Vote of Thanks: Swami Sarvottamananda, Vice Chancellor
6.30 – 6.35 pm: Concluding Song–murta maheshwaram… by Swami Shivapurnananda
