SRI KRISHNA JANMASHTAMI
16 August 2025 (Saturday)
Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated in a fitting traditional manner at the Abhedananda Convention Centre, Belur Math, with an Akhanda Gita Parayana, or the continuous chanting of the entire Bhagavad-Gita. Students, faculty, monks, and devotee-students of RKMVERI participated in the event.
The program began at 10 AM with two devotional songs by Swami Shivapurnanandaji. Following this, the Akhanda Gita Parayana commenced, led by Swami Atmapriyanandaji along with Swamis Japasiddhanandaji, Shivapurnanandaji, Sarvabhadranandaji and Kaleshanandaji. There were 375 participants and 10 monks in total who joined in the chanting.
The spiritual event concluded with two final songs sung by Swami Sarvabhadranandaji. Afterwards, all the participants had lunch prasad at Belur Math.
