Admission for MSc Programme in Mathematics

We are currently admitting students for our MSc programme in Math. Sc. department.

Syllabus

The details of the MSc Mathematics curriculum can be found in our Syllabus.

Eligibility

BSc(Hons)/BMath/BStat in Mathematics/Physics/Statistics or, BE / BTech to be completed by 2009. Male students who have secured 50% or more (in honours subjects) till the end of their penultimate year of undergraduate studies may appear for the written examination.

The fees per semester will be about Rs.3000/-.

Entrance Examination to be held on: Sunday  22 February, 11 am – 2 pm

Syllabus for Entrance Examination: Undergraduate level Real Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Linear Algebra, Vector Calculus. There will be objective question as well as longer problems.

Issue of Application Form

Application forms are available electronically or can be collected from the University office in person, starting 24 November, between 10 am to 5 pm.

Submission of Application Form

Application forms, along with necessary certificates, can be submitted either by post or in person during office hours at the University office, together with a fee of Rs.200/- by demand draft in favour of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University. Affix an attested passport size photograph in the apllication form. The applications should reach the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University office by 17 February .

The Admit Card with the attested photograph must be retained by the candidate for the entrance examination and brought to the hall during the examination. It should not be mailed with the application form.

Note: There will be no admissions for MSc for the 2010-11 session.
